A Love Story

LOVE .. the word itself got a magical power behind it. Its not rare that we mistake a self-seeking false love for Unconditional Love. I still doubt which is the strongest love in this world. Between mother and kid?? Between lovers?? Between husband and wife?? Between siblings? Between friends??.... still a question if opened for a debate will continue till the world exists..

I was having a discussion about Love with my friends. Its funny how people think of love. Maybe its their experience that gives then those attitudes.. Some of them think love got colors and its their life. I don’t mean the love that’s between lovers.. it can be any love.. it was then that I heard a story about love from a friend of mine. I liked it and I agree with it. (and please friends, don’t take it that I am against love of anything. I am very much in love but somehow I felt there is some hidden truth in the story I heard. After all humans are those who still have the basic animal instinct.) Thought of sharing that Monkey Story with you…

A Story of love that existed between mother monkey and baby money. There happened to be a heavy flood and storm in the mountain where the monkey family lived. The water rose up, and it stormed continously. Even the wise monkeys were frightened by the flood and they decided to go to someother place when the waters covered everything except a tree at the mountain top. But how could the baby monkey who is too small to jump go with them. So the baby monkey and mommy monkey were let alone there. How could a mother ever leave its baby, however worse the case may be?

As the water level started rising, the mommy monkey had to keep the baby monkey on the shoulder. But then it didn’t stop there... I started raining more. The mommy monkey kept the baby monkey on the head, so that it will be safe. But after sometime, the level started rising and the mommy monkey couldn’t do anything to save her baby.. She cried , she struggled and at last she left the baby monkey there and she escaped.

What do u think is the best love in this world in Human relations?
Lets take a Vote…I vote for…umm... Will vote at the end. :)

I feel that a relation between a mom n her kid is the pure kind of love .she never expects anything in return from her kid,her luv is boundless,its sooooooooooo vast like an ocean,pure n transparent,,it is unconditional ,last but not least wat i can say abt that is there are no words to explain it!!!!!!!!!

Most of the readers go for mommy-Kid love as unconditional, pure etc.. (Nobody the story i wrote or wat?). Thought of sharing something interesting with u.

Here's what the real experts have to say about love. A group of professionals posed the question "What does love mean?" to a group of 4 to 8 year olds ...

When my grandma got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandpa does it for her now all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love. -- Rebecca, age 8

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouths. -- Billy, age 4

Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs. -- Chrissie, age 6

Love is what makes you smile when you're tired. -- Terri, age 4

Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK. -- Danny, age 7

Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday. -- Noelle, age 7

Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken. -- Elaine, age 5

Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford. -- Chris, age 7

Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day. -- Mary Ann, age 4

You really shouldn't say I LOVE YOU unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget. -- Jessica, age 8

And the winner was a 4 year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly man who had just lost his wife. When the child saw the man cry, the little boy went over into the man's yard, climbed on top of the man's lap, and just sat there. When the boy's mother asked him what he'd said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

The love from parent's is unconditional. But people do require love from others too, thats fact of life.

Love - cannot be defined in any parameters and its amature to compare its different forms withn human relations.
Love is timeless,limitless and forever;its a feeling wich never dies,always remains no matter what.....with and without the existence of the person.
Lets not stick to humans and human relations when talking about love.
Love for nature,rains,books,animals,travelling,life,,,,this is a complete experience within itself.
Personally i think comparisons in love,,,,,,nah lets not demean it.

This is a lovely conversation started by u beena....keep up the spirits.

There are orphans - does their parents love them?
I think selfless love is a rare commodity. Agape - unconditional love can only be found in GOd. Philia, eros and others are just dustwhich will be blown away by a strong wind.. ...

i would say that there is a great difference between animals and humans. animals dont have to think of the consequences of their actions where as we do.that's why we r the most evolved.for animals the top priority is survival of the fittest.

as for the most pure kind of love...well.i would say that all kinds of love are pure as long as it isn't tainted by the darker aspects. feelings change over time and so does the intensity of love.
for eg. i would have no attacks of conscience in harming the person who has harmed my son or my husband. so i guess u cant really be sure whether a mother's love or a wife's love or a daughter's love or a friend's love etc is pure.

but i will say this, the love that a baby feels for his/her mother or father is untainted. similarly that of a dog towards his master. cos babies and dogs love unconditionally....

N.Akash: Thanks for helping me in the monkey business.
I feel all support parents-kids love as the unconditional one.. and darshana u felt Love is timeless,limitless and forever (wow, cool definition. But I doubt if it’s true. Everything comes with an expiry date… if not condition)
I feel there is nothing called UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.. maybe its there .. the love God has for the minute creatures (us) he made out of mud. (as Johny mentioned).. and the Dogs for its masters (you are right preethy). But then we were discussing on human relation. I feel what children feel for their parents is not love, but their dependency and helplessness.
May be I need to explore and study more.. if the mommy-baby relation is really UNCONDITIONAL.. so I give up.. and my vote is invalid
Thanks for commenting, friends

Beena,
Before going that far into unconditional love, it would be good to know more about love itself. What is love? For its the same filty four letter word.

Beena said...

Love exists everywhere. it keeps us all moving. i cant think of a life without my loved ones.. but the prefix UNCONDITIONAL-- still not in a position to talk about it.
* confused *
*sigh*

came across this beautiful sonnet by Shakespear. that shoud explain Love.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616)

Interesting story:)
As per me, the greatest love is one u feel for urself. Coz a person who dsnt love himself cant love anyone or anything infact! and dats the purest form of love.
Watsay?

I think love is when your heart overtakes your mind. You cant logically decide to do but you know what to do.

Unconditional love does exist - that of a mother to her baby. I guess condiitons creep in as the baby gets older :-)

Great..
You said a point which none of us thought about supernova.

HI FRIENDS....
This topic and its comments are really interesting thats why im writing one more comment to this blog...

More details abt this comment...

MY INTENSION IN WRITING THIS
============================

I have a good topic for a new post and i belives that wil be a "HIT", but what stops me from posting it i dont have time to spend for creating a blog and maintaining it..
... so request to u guys (anyone of u) to post it for me....
pls HELP!!!

ABOUT THE TOPIC
===============
Actually i didnt have the 'copyright' for this topic. This topic is in my mind for the past 15 years!!!!!! i got this topic from my school.

one day during lunch break, its heavily raining, so most of the students are in the class itself. (i think at that time im in 4th standard.) At that time, one of my class mate asked a question (this question is the TOPIC which im suggesting, So readd carefuly..) That question is a YES OR NO type question. Some said "YES" and some others said "NO". Then they asked the answer to questioner, but his reply s "I wont tell the answer, you discuss it and find the answer". So everyone started arguing with there on reasons and it went on till the begining of afternoon session class (atleast 20 min!!!!!).

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TOPIC
=========================
Now you might think that why im telling all these things...

its bcz that question is very much related to this POST. so get ready to post it in ur blog...

here s the question...
(Actually the question is in the form of story which is really a big one. the story describes the situation in detail, only bcz of those situations we discussed it for 20 mins... when u post it in your blog u can add ur own stuff, nothing matters...)
i will say the question in short..

"there s a tree which is in bank of a river and peacock sitting in a tree. the peacock is sitting in a branch which s pointing to the direction of river. And the question is 'If the peacock lays an egg, will it float or sink?????'

Got the answer???

Do you think its a foolish story/question and r u afraid to post it?
If yes, dont get afraid, i assure you that this topic is far better than this post topic. If this post got 20 comments, then ur your blog will get atleast 200 coments :).

MY COMMENTS
===========

hi nepali akash, i expect ur thesis work below... carry on.. ;)

NOTE: If u need more topics, dont feel bad in contacting me... i have a big collection :)

One pesornal question to all the readers(especially to those who wrote comments for this post).

" DONT U HAVE ANY WORK????? "

The Science Of Love
Researchers believe that love at first sight is not just a cliche. A chemical reaction which may lead to romance can be created when one person first looks at another. A mix of natural chemicals and hormones .
