The pain of a lost childhood...

The kid I met in park yesterday selling ballons, one whose childhood is out of reach.

I wish all the kids had a carefree and inncocent chilhood… where they have dreams, which are not crushed by the bitter facts of life.

Not to say that he is in a better off position, children who are tangled in war torn areas, terrorized, and where they are not only victims but made the participants in war -that is what I call the loss of innocence.
The balloon boy still "seems" to have a chance to dream.
Your picture here reminds me of a story of an African boy asking a white man selling balloons: "Will the black balloon also fly like all other colored balloons?"

You blog remined me street kids.

Today evening I chanced upon some street chilren in Kathmandu sniffing glue.

They stole money. Not to buy food or sth like that but to buy GLUE!

they are addicted to it. The govenment has not time to look after them. And NGOs are busy making money.

Where are samaritans........?

It's really sad, to observe things with a knowledge about right or wrong but being helpless to do anything against it. It's an unfair world that we live in. Not everyone has guts like Lord Buddha to give up his throne and go in search of knowledge to pacify others. Besides being hurt when seeing these pictures, I can only pray he get's some happiness out of what he is doing. At least he is trying to better his life
